Issues & Solutions:

Issue:

Can I put the CD’s onto a network or a CD-Tower?

Solution:

The CD’s cannot be put onto a server or a CD-Tower.  The program was designed to take the audio and video portions off the CD.  It was written with Macromedia Director and makes use of QuickTime for the audio and video sections.

Issue:

None of the movies will play.

Solution:

The program uses QuickTime to display the movie and audio sections of the program.  Be sure that QuickTime was installed to the hard drive.  A version of QuickTime is included on the CD-Rom.

Issue:

The screen will not print in the Portfolio.

Solution:

If the users go directly to the Portfolio feature and are unable to print a screen, they should print a screen from any chapter of the book then they return to the Portfolio, they should be able to print.  For some reason, this seems to activate the print-o-matic feature of the portfolio.

Issue:

The scoring mechanism does not work in the Self-Test.

Solution:

If the scoring mechanism in the yellow box is not visible, users should go to one of the exercises in the self-test in the next chapter and then return to the original chapter.  This seems to activate the scoring mechanism.
